The first two illustrations are from late 14th Century northern Italian manuscripts published in  The Medieval Health Handbook: tacuinum sanitatis (NY: George Braziller, 1976).  The third picture (bottom left) is from a book of hours by the Master of the Dresden Prayer Book, ca 1500 (as reproduced in the 2002 Medieval Women Calendar)
